The Ramble

The Ramble is a living forest at the heart of Manhattan.

The Ramble is large woodland (approx. 38 acres) and it is a maze of trails amidst a sea of trees, composed mostly of North American species, but also more exotic ones like the Sophora and the Phellodendron.

The Ramble heaven for birdwatching, more than 250 species have been spotted here. You can also spot numerous smaller species like squirrels and raccoons.

The Ramble borders with some of Central Park’s most prominent attractions, like Bethesda Terrace, The Lake, Bow Bridge, and Belvedere Castle.
