Strawberry Fields

Strawberry fields is a popular location in Central Park named after the famous Beatles’ song “Strawberry Fields Forever”. Dedicated to John Lennon, who for a time lived and was also killed nearby.

Surrounded by a line of elm trees, flowers, and rocks, The Strawberry Fields is one of the designated quiet zones of Central Park. It was created as a commemoration to John Lennon, who lived just outside Central Park. Unfortunately, John was tragically murdered at Dakota in 1980.

The Strawberry Feilds was designed by landscape architect Arne Abramowitz, who thinks Central Park is the perfect location for this landscape since Central Park is full of monuments.

On October 9 and December 8, John Lennon's birthday and anniversary of his death, fans of The Beatles often place flowers and candles to honor to the famous singer-songwriter.
